We are Leanne (Clinical Research Nurse) and Paris (Clinical Research Practitioner), and we work within the Central Basildon Primary Care Network (PCN) to support your GP practice in research activities. Clinical research aims to improve the health and well-being for all. Clinical research does this by investigating new ways to manage, treat and screen for different health conditions (for example: asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure). There are also projects which look at finding better ways to improve your general health, and how your GP practice can support you in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
By taking part in research, you can take control of your own health and help to improve the way healthcare is delivered in the future. With our presence in the practices, we may be in contact to offer you opportunities to take part in research studies relevant to yourself – equally, if you are keen to get involved, or can suggest any areas of research you think would be of value, please get in touch (leanne.durdle@nhs.net).
Taking part in research is always completely optional, and the choice to not participate will not impact your usual care in any way.
